TONIGHT I THINK I SAW WHAT COULD BE A STATE RECORD TYPICAL BUCK! HE WAS HUGE I WAS SETTING IN SOME TEN YEAR OVER LOOKING A BEAN FIELD USING MY NEW SPOTTING SCOPE WHEN SIX DEER CAME OUT OF THE WOODS INTO THE BEANS AND I WATCHED THEM FOR ABOUT 30 MIN EATING ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY PICKED THIER HEADS UP AND LOOKED BACK AT THE WOODS THEN THIS MONSTER OF A DEER WALKED OUT I WAS ABOUT 200 YRDS AWAY AND LUCKY ENOUGH TO WATCH HIM FOR ABOUT 30-40 MINUTES BEFORE HE WENT BACK INTO THE WOODS I THINK I FOUND THE DEER IM GOING AFTER THIS YEAR IM GOING TO TRY TO GETS SOME PICKS

good luck in getting some pics of him, and goodluck in getting him also, hopefully he is like ole droppy and isnt too camera shy!!

Can you give us a description of the antlers? You must of got a great look at him with that amount of time and a spotting scope.

How many tines, how wide, what do you think he would score, etc........
 
Couldn't have been in Jackson County. Everyone knows there are no big deer here! We only shoot does and little scrub bucks. Maggs

That's right Maggs, i haven't seen a big buck in jackson county in the past 15 years. i know western jackson county doesn't have any big ones at leaast.
 
Well I can vouch for Eastern Jackson County not having any big deer. What with the river bottoms and the hills the deer just don't have a chance to grow very big! Poor forage quality and all that. Maggs
