Iowa taxidermist recommendation

MN Slick

Due to the CWD issue, MN will not allow deer with the brain and spinal column attached to be brought into the state. If I'm lucky enough to take a nice buck in November I'd like to take it to a reputable taxidermist. My route is along I35 so shops close to there would be prefered. Des Moines would probably be best. Thanks.

Lot's of great taxidermist in the state and but you still have to do your homework.

If your by Creston (which is right off I35) try Dan Adamson of High Plains Taxidermy (sponsor of the site). That's who I will be bringing my recent buck harvest to . . . here's a picture of him and "Silver"

There's Cory Caruthers, Urbandale. Ph.515-251-8397.
Roger Hutton,south of Des Moines,St.Charles. Ph. 515-396-2760.
Paul Fisher, Story City. Ph. 515-733-2902.
Here are three to get you going, all three do great work.

I know in Iowa you can't bring deer across state lines from states that have been effected by CWD, but I was unaware there were states that wouldn't let you cross state lines period.

I had good luck with:
Dave Jones, Jones Brothers Taxidermy in Mitchellville, Iowa, also Russ Vermie in Runnells, Iowa. Both do very good work and are very reasonable. Good luck.

Brad Coulson in Ankeny is good. Onecam has another good recommendation. The thing to do research each one. And if you go with the low price you usually get what you pay for. The Iowa Deer Classic is a good place to shop for a quality Taxidermist.
