I understand Iowa has an anterless season in January (11-23). How does this work? I am doing a study comparing MN to her neighboring states and this special season sounds interesting.
What can be used to harvest does during this season?
Is it by special permit or drawing?
How many can a person harvest?
Also, during Iowa's regular shotgun season, what type of tag do you use for does? (lottery, buy over the counter, etc.) In MN, your license is good for a buck when purchased. To take a doe, you apply for a doe permit (lottery) and see if you get drawn. Our shotgun season ran Nov 6-7 & Nov 13-16 in 2004 (varies in other areas of the state). 80% of bucks harvested are 1 1/2 olds.
