Is anyone happy

with their cell phone service? Had US Cellular, was OK but looked like coverage was better with Verizon. Changed service & having real trouble in SSE Iowa. Lots of dead spots even though the coverage map is solid. I carry one mainly because I'm out alone quite a bit or working in the timber.

Pharmer, I currently have Verizon service and have had for the last five years after switching from US Cellular. I don't know about service areas, but I have been extraordinarily happy with the service from Verizon (and I have been known to need it from time to time). It would take a great bit to get me to ever switch.

Pharmer, I live down in SE Iowa and work for the local telephone company. Cell sevice down here is spotty at best no matter what company you go with. It is just a matter of not enough towers. All the companies buy time on the same towers but they are so spread out that everybody has a problem with sevice.

Pharmer I've had verizon for nearly 5 years and wish I could get out of contract with them. I have had nothing but problems with them since day one. I've been thinking about switching to U.S. Cellular.

I have Verizon and am not real happy with the phone.Always losing connection even in good spots and the battery on the phone dies every 3 days.....

My wife and I both have LG digital phones and are on a US Celluar plan. We experience very few problems here is S.W. Iowa. I talk frequently with my children in Maryville, Ms. Liberty Ia. and Reno, NV. Signal appears to be very good around here.

You dont know what spotty coverage is until you have a nextel. I love the two way feature but you can't use it if you don't have service.

Sold phones for Verizon for 2 years. I like the service and the phones have been good so far. If the battery is going dead, and you are still in the first year of the contract, you can call them and get a new one under warrenty. *611 is a free call to get hold of them. The LGs that I have had and recomended to friends have been alright for coverage, but nothing has beaten the audiovox phones for weak area coverage.

Those of you on verizon that still have bad coverage, try a free call = *228 and choose option 2 to upgrade your software. The phone will load the latest tower id's that the company has aquired.

The last tip is a good one and this should be done about once a month. Worked all over the state with nextel, us cell, and verizon been the happiest with verizon.
