Last 3 times out for me has been pretty quiet.

Saw only a few doe altogether. What is it like in the rest of the state? With a new moon (

I spent two hours in a completeely new spot yesterday AM and only saw one small eight pointer working a scape and one doe.

Hey Moose,
I went out thursday oct 23rd and saw 25 deer by 9:15 a.m. 4 bucks, 2 little fellers, one shooter and a SWAMPOUS!!!!!

I really didn't want to fill my doe tag after seeing him in the area. But by the time the 22nd doe walked by I couldn't resist. I saw 2 does and a buck after I watched her go down. I finally had to start grunting real low on the tube to get the last one to leave. I think I would have seen more in the next half an hour but I had to hustle to make it to work.

I guess I got lucky and had one of those memorable days.

I've only been out twice and seen a few does each time (hunting a new place with lots of deep cuts --- wind is tricky to figure out.)
I'm hoping that between things cooling off weather-wise, things heating up rut-wise, and the excitement caused by pheasant hunters busting through cover that the deer will be moving. Always try to have my limit of pheasants by late morning so I can be in the stand by 2 p.m. Hoo, hoo it's tough being at work today!!!!
