Is it possible?

That this decent little 4x4 is only 1 1/2??? I keep looking at the pics of him I'm getting on the cam at the feeder and they scream REAL YOUNG BUCK, he's no bigger in in stature than the dinky little 3x3's and 4x4's I know are 1 1/2.

By the way....if you put your cam 5 feet from the feedbox, they'll try avoid it and attack the hay bales 20 yards away.

IR or normal flash? I'm not a fan of placing flash cams in areas where one doesn't want to spook deer, but that might just be my personal hang up.

Is that buck 1.5? Gosh, tough call. It seems you do grow them bigger up there.

Awful lot of mass for a 1 1/2 yo. I doubt it is, but anything is possible I suppose.

I would tend to agree with DOR...lots of mass for a 1 1/2 yr old. I guess the teeth would be the best bet to look at...or just see what he looks like next year. Maybe it's an 8 pt doe with that small of body!!

Either way it will be interesting to see him next year...look forward to those pics.

I think it is possible. I would compare the bodies before the antlers. I remember a few from the past that were that massive at 1 1/2.

I saw a picture of a deer in Wisconsin that was similiar in size to this and it was only a 1.5 year old based on its dental age identification. So yes its possible and I saw a deer aged this year that I would have said 3 year old for sure and it was aged as a 2.5 year old that grossed 145 inches. Ya never know so its good we don't have to worry how old they are before we decide to shoot them
