Seems like he may only be three...???...

nah, he looks 2 :D

BABY face is what I would call him. I think you have a stud 3 year old on your hands. :way:

That is a future stud no doubt. Major potential. The problem is anyone that see's him will shoot at him.

Man he does look really young! If he had a smaller rack I'd have no problem calling him 2.....could that be possible? 2 or 3, either way he's gonna be a "holy crap" kinda deer in a year or two!

I would say 3. If you could protect him for another year then that would be great. If he walked in front of me he would have a hard time getting away.

That is a bummer & true in most areas. Probably a lot of areas & guys that'll let a 5.5 135" walk and shoot the super young dandy like you have there. I sure hope he makes it, in Iowa there's a darn good shot he will though.

Awesome deer! Looks to be a pup with a short snout. Love the hour glass.
Like skip and joe said hope he makes it to his real potential!

Anybodys guess. I have been fooled many times by body size. I don't see enough here to have any idea.

His rack sure does't say three, but his face almost looks like he could be 2. Maye you'll get a profile of his body in another pic and it will be easier to tell.

I shot a buck last year that was short snouted like that but he was 4.5, it's hard to say with that deer but i wanna say he's 4.5 just because of his rack, and he doesnt appear to be real small bodied, hope u get more pics at different angles

To me he really looks like a STUD 2 year old. His body looks small and his head isn't that of a mature buck for sure. You've got a dandy on your hands.

All I can do is guess, but I would guess him as a 3 year old. He certainly does look like a buck that could explode in future years though.

I am convinced though that not every buck "blows up" with each successive year of growth. Sure, I think all bucks get bigger, antlers and body, with age, but some deer have a "pig" like build and some deer have a slight build IMO. Same with antlers, some racks will gain 20"-30" a year, some seem to be almost identical year to year.

We have watched enough deer on our farm for enough years now to get a pretty decent sense of how things go with specific bucks year to year that leads me to these thoughts. I guess some guys will be grow into linemen and some guys will be defensive backs.

It's all a guessing game but I would say he is 4. His brisket is just too deep. That last pic makes his body look huge!

i'm having a hard time believing that deer is any younger than 4, but that's just my opinion
