In the winter I found deer tracks on campus in the snow before, they were over on the west side of campus. I've also seen tracks cutting across Universtiy blvd through the parking lots for Hilton and Jack Trice heading west up the hill into the neighborhood. There are quit a few deer along that smaller creek that cuts under Lincoln Way just east of University Blvd. In fact a few times I was even a weirdo and climbed up in a tree to see what I could see along that creek and even hung a trail camera and make a mock scrape over by the Haunted Forest behind my old apartment. I have a handful of sheds I found in Ames too.

Yes I know there are some big ones in Ames used to be a giant behind George White for a few years

How long ago? I have a nice set of sheds found within 1/2 mi of there.

I can remember at least five years ago I would see a big buck on the cold water golf course about every morning during the winter. I figured he was bedding behind Kmart during the day. Went in there looking for some sheds but no luck. Found a group of "die hard campers" though.

My Dad said back in the day he used to see deer on campus every now and then. He was in farmhouse way back when.

I think there is a good chance I have the sheds of the buck your talking about. It was 4 years ago this winter I found them. Not a monster, but I would guess 160-170 5x5.
