well i decided this year to focus in a buck that i named freak8, he was on my cameras all summer and fall, i knew it was only a matter of time before we crossed paths and i could get a shot! i found out last night that a guy that somehow gets permission from my grandpa to hunt our land shot freak8, talk about a blow to the stomach! i dont know why my grandpa cant just tell this guy NO, when our family hunts on this property! here is a pic of him http://iowawhitetail.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=285&pictureid=7284
 
That is too bad for you but I bet the other guy is sure tickled. At least he was taken by someone who will enjoy him and not killed by a car or pouched or never seen again.
 
That does suck, but in agreement with blakesburg, at least it was taken by someone with permission and didn't just disappear forever all of a sudden.
 
My dad used to give other people permission to hunt during late ML and it used to tick me off. There was about 5 guys and they would shoot every buck that walked by. One morning I left early for work and drove by dads property and spotted a good buck coming across the corn field. I stopped on the road and glassed him, and while I'm glassing I hear a pounding on my vehicle. I put down my Bino's and a the guy wearing full camo with no Orange on carrying a ML precedes to chew my a$$ for messing up his hunt. After this incident my dad lets no one hunt his property.

at least it was a hunter and he is a decent guy. i also got to see the antlers and they had huge ground schrinkage compared to the trail cam pics. there are bigger ones so maby it was meant to be!
