I don't use a jake call but I do have a gobble call that I bought last year and had the opportunity to use. I had 2 gobblers at about 250+ yards that would strut, gobble and then start to walk off, I would call again and they would do the same..... I then got the gobble call out of my pocket and made a short call sequence and answered it with the gobbler call. Those 2 birds did a 180 turn and made a bee-line for me. I was able to harvest the "boss gobbler" at 18 yards about 45 seconds later. So do they work?? In that one experience for me yes, but will be interesting to see what happens this year. Good Luck...
