Jasper County deer hunting

How's the deer hunting in Jasper County? I'm from Michigan and have an opportunity to hunt private land there. My friend at work is from Iowa and gave us permission to hunt Palo Alto Co. or Jasper Co. What Co. would be better? By the way, I'm a Spartan fan and NOT a Wolvy. I root for the Hawks any time I can especially against Michigan. Keep your streak going! Go Hawkeyes!!

I live and hunt in Jasper County. I can't complain about the number of deer. The quality varies depending on where you are in the county and how much pressure it gets. My area is finally starting to thin the doe herd. There are a couple small public hunting areas.

Where are you from in Michigan? We have family friend from Michigan that owns a farm in the county.

As for the Hawkeyes all I can say is...
Go Clones!!

I live in Jasper Co. as well.....do most of my deer hunting in the next county, but have still hunted plenty in Jasper. Just like Mole said....it really depends on which part of the Co. you are hunting. There are parts of Jasper that are VERY overpopulated with deer....other parts have just the right number. Overall....there is excellant hunting where ever you go....no matter what county you are in. If you don't mind me asking....what part of Jasper are you going to hunt?

A dang shame this Spartan fan has to try and cut down the dominant Wolverines to gain the respect of Iowa hunters!!

I thought we had run out all the 'clone fans in Jasper County. Must be a couple that snuck under the radar. Go Hawks!!

I agree with the other guys. Jasper is great county to hunt if you find the right place. I'm always impressed with the size and number of bucks that get taken off the river every year.
