Well I'm almost to Iowa city in this party bus and I have to say- I'm pretty jealous of you all out in the stand! Goodluck- I hope I'm the only one left to report a harvest on here after you all get your trophies today!!
 
I'm watching Casper with the kids and drinking coffee this morning while my wife is hunting. Role reversal?? Haha I hope she can sit in this cold long enough to get a shot at one! Good luck to all. Today will be a fantastic day in the woods!
 
I have seen a lot if cruising along the interstate past amanas. No giants but lots of activity

I'm setting in a great funnel and all I've seen are does. I'm saying it's not happening in my area yet. Kind of wish I was on a party bus headed to the city! :)

My son shot one last night and we got him this am. While I was standing there after we got him out of the ditch a big 10 ran a doe right by me. It's rocking right now.

I hope to get mine this evening. If I had my bow with me I could have had that nice ten. Oh well.
 
I didn't hunt this morning - had some errands to do with the wife. Will be out tonight, tomorrow AM and evening. Need to start thinking about a few days to take off from work so hoping the action pics up.
 
All single does in north Iowa. On my drive to the stand this am at 5-6am saw 4 different bucks crossing roads (really cruising). Nothing in the woods though.

Had a few guys hunt my stands this AM and they had "Spartacus" under him- biggest deer he has ever passed. Great encounter he said- but hard to pass!
 
Hunted this morning and getting ready to go back out. Saw 8 does (2 had twins still hanging around), a 2.5 10 searching and panting, and a 1.5 out looking around. Checked one camera and had two mature deer still nocturnal, hitting a scrape.
 
This wind direction kept me from going where I wanted to tonight. Was just getting into my stand when the neighbors appeared and started splitting wood about 75 yards from me. I think they are leaving now hopefully. They don't know that I am sitting in a stand only 75 yards from them...well at least the mother doesn't.

She just walked away from the rest of them, towards me, and squatted and took a pee. I really had to resist whistling. :D. :D. Hopefully a nice buck comes by soon to check her "scrape". Beautiful beautiful night in the woods. Even if I get skunked.
 
15 deer tonight from a timber stand. Lots of early action and nothing late. Checked the field edge at dark and there was a good buck grunting every few steps and chasing a doe all over. Almost hit 3 different bucks with one being a stud on the 7 mile drive from my hunting spot to home. It's time to be in a tree any minute possible.
 
5 more bucks this am, shot #5. On way to get him had 2 bucks with a doe 60 yds from where I park. Just got back from Indianola and saw 1 mature buck along 69 dogging a doe with 3 dinks in toe. Anyone not in woods should be. Saw 39 different bucks in 3.5 days hunting
 
Could you imagine squeezing a muzzle loader off when she was squatted down. She would've dropped a deuce faster than Phil Helmuth at the World Series of Poker.
