I work for a phone company and cover alot of area and I've seen numerous road killed fawns already. Kinda makes you sad. Not only are they cute but who knows, some of 'em coulda been booners some day.

I guess yotes take more than road kill. I watched one with a set of 3 yesterday. Its nothing to see 4 to 6 fawns a day while doing hay here.

I've seen about 7 fawns in my travels to Cherokee, Spirit Lake, Denison this week. I think I've seen more deer this year than ever.

i think the good majority of does have their fawns yet. I saw a doe with two fawns drinking in our creek the other night in iowa. i havent been seeing many does and fawns though on our farm, they're there im sure, just hiding out in the woods or tall grasses.

we had a lot of 6 month old deer killed by coyots last year, something like 18 i think i found dead. had to be coyotes, when the snow got deep towards the end of winter and got a crust on it, im assuming tht was the problem.

See that many or more a day. Don't think the yotes have done much damage around SW Iowa.
