just missed...........double dang

i set up on a ground blind today after observing a quality buck on tuesdays afternoon hunt. wasn't there 10 minutes and watched a 150 class 10 move through the woods at 100 yards. at 4:00 a 150 class 12 made his way straight to the decoy. I misjudged the distance and missed just below him.

I took him to be at 30 and he must have been about 40. He only jumped and ran about 10 yards then hung around for 15 minutes. So he wasn't to spooked. Then at 5:00 I see the 180" 14 pointer I saw before season. He is at the corner of woods the other 2 bucks passed through. He doesn't come out though and present a shot for me. I'll be in that corner tommorrow. As much as I hated to blow that shot I know I will have another opportunity. I feel real good about the next day or two.....

This helps like hell when you are hunting open areas. Knock'em dead!

That cheap Fether Flex bedded doe decoy next to your buck and some grunting would be very cool.

i did the same thing last weekend. it was the biggest deer ive ever had that close. i was worried he was to far so i put my 40 pin on his lungs. ended up being 30 yards. slid right over his back. he wasnt two spooked. Would anyone go back to the same spot this weekend with hope of seeing the same deer???

during the rut anything is possible. If it is a good spot sit it. Same one could show or a bigger one. Good luck.
