DOR,
I believe with a point your odds are about 50-60% with no point your odds are 0%. Not sure when we find out the results. I applied with one point and good luck to you, I'm praying I don't get one.
Nonres
Thanks for your thought nonres, I have heard that from others, but no one seems to be real sure....but rest assured that if you get drawn for iowa you will also get drawn for kansas and if dont get drawn for iowa you wont for kansas either,,,,,its just the way luck seems to go.
Im hoping i get drawn for one and can rotate states every other year on my non preferance year, but im not banking on it. Good luck to you.
DOR,
Sounds like we are in the same situation. Thats my goal as well to switch back and forth from Iowa to Kansas but that will be difficult due to the large number of hunters applying for Kansas nonresident permits. Kansas may be an every third year hunt in the near future. To hunt deer that both states have to offer is an awsome priviledge (sp) and worth the wait.
Are Kansas tags transferable? I think if a buddy of mine does not draw, he has a landowner get a tag and he is able to use it legally or at least it used to be......
residents can buy NR tags and resell them to Non residents, but usually these tags go for big bucks, unless you know someone. I bought one last year to hunt in december and the guy still charged me 500$.
During the rut or earlier you can expect to spend upwards of 1000 or more if you want to go that route.
