Keeping feet warm in late season

How do you guys keep your feet warm in the cold late season weather?

I have a pair of 800g thinsulate rocky rubbers that I know will be cold in less than 25* weather. Should I look at the hot pockets or battery heated socks?

The wind chill on the 26th is supposed to br minus 25, I dont open think any boot will work then, better be in a heated blind

I wear "thick" socks. Also, you want to wear a pair of boots that are one or two sizes big. I find that you can wiggle your toes easier. So, your feet will be alot more warm. I mean, the difference between what I wore years back, to what I wore a couple years ago were like night and day in comfort.

Normally I'll wear gym socks then either a pair of boot socks or wool socks over them. The boots have plenty of room, just looking for that next level of comfort.

Getting another pair of boots isn't an option now, so looking for suggestions other than new boots.

There is only one boot that I know of and have that will work in that temp and it is the old military black mickey mouse boots. Hunted in those temps many times. Need good liner socks and wool socks. Most sits were around 3 hours.

Outside of that, a pair of artic shield boot blankets do wonders. Put them on right away when in the tree and you wont have to worry about cold feet.

The biggest thing that helped me was liner socks and wool socks. I used to wear just normal everyday socks then a heavy sock and froze my toes all the time. Switched to the liner sock and it solved the issue. If it gets below 20 degrees with my leather boots though I will just put on the artic shield boot blankets.

If it is going to be well below zero all day with no end in sight I will wear the mickey mouse boots. They only cost like $35 to $50. Wear the right kind of socks and never worry about the cold again.

The sizing is kind of screwy on them. I usually wear a size 13 or 14 extra wide leather boot but in the mickey mouse boots I wear a 12R.

My guess is that most guys who get cold feet while sitting, get cold feet because their feet sweat bad. Mine do. But I've never taken an extra pair to the stand. I would say after you hike in, switch socks and you'll be golden almost regardless of the amount of thinsulate over 800 grams. I'm going to try that with merino wool socks during late muzzleloader.

The problem with most boots on the market is your feet have no room to breathe. It makes little difference how much thinsulate is in them or what type of socks you wear if your feet cannot breathe. Look up "wiggys pack boot". The liners are made of lamalite sleeping bag material - lamalite is an amazing product that has been used by the military for cold weather sleeping bags for quite a while. I can promise you this is the last boot you will ever buy to sit in the cold. There truly is not a boot on the market than can compete - and they're not even that expensive.

Can someone post a link to liner socks? I have all kinds of wool and boot socks. I also picked up some hot packets made for your feet from walmart today. I really cant stand cold feet and have been suffering for years....it's time to stop.

I just started wearing the boot blankets this year and I am in love. My feet sweat really bad so I always get cold feet. I bring these and sat all day this year with ease because my feet were border line hot. I wear a thin sock so my feet will breath then slip on my 800g boots. When I get to the stand I slip these on RIGHT AWAY and the rest is history. Good Luck.
