Last Saturday I was able to knock over my first gobbler. I got out to the field at about 6 AM and they turks were already sounding off all around us. We sat for about 2 hours and had nothing come into our set up. So we decided to go look for a few mushrooms. We walked about a half a mile and spooked a coulpe of hens out from a field. I thought we just blew any chance of getting a bird. We continued on walking and kick out 2 deer from a bed. We decided to follow the trail they went down and it came in to an opening in another field. I was walking along the edge of the field and timber and came up to a little slou way. I took about 2 more steps and this guy got up and started running. I pulled at 25 yards and that is all it took. Here are a few pics of the bird. I couldn't get the my favorite ones to upload so here are a few with me and one of my wife with the bird.
