I searched 1000+ acres, I actually like some of those Kansas farms, 2000-10000 acres of good deer hunting! BUT... For some odd reason, these big tracts, you don't get the mineral rights, sometimes not the water or wind rights either- weird.

You get no mineral rights here either...just paid for access to them. I don't really consider it weird as it's a multi billion dollar proposition for the gov't in places with lots of the right stuff under the earth's surface.

I think mineral rights in alot of places were bought a long time back, 50-100 years or more ago.

I'll sell you my farm..... I want to retain the hunting rights, farming rights, timber rights, fishing rights, minerals rights, building rights. Everyone wants the money from selling the land BUT really doesn't want to sell the land. Having your cake and eating it too. Just think it's ridiculous.
