landowner affidavits

I think there was wording in SF106 stating that when you buy a landowner license, you are essentially attesting to the fact that you indeed own land. If they find out you don't own land and have been issued a land owners license, your busted. It might have been close to the "minimum" acreage wording.

I noticed that application was for anterless tags. Is there a seperate application for the any sex tag as well?

Just realized that application was for n.r. landowner anterless tags. I guess my question is the same as pharmers.

Okay, it was SF206 and here is a cut/paste:
NEW PARAGRAPH. f. A deer hunting license or wild turkey
7 6 hunting license issued pursuant to this subsection shall be
7 7 attested by the signature of the person to whom the license is
7 8 issued and shall contain a statement in substantially the
7 9 following form:
7 10 By signing this license I certify that I qualify as an
7 11 owner or tenant under Iowa Code section 483A.24.
7 12 A person who makes a false attestation as described in this
7 13 paragraph is guilty of a simple misdemeanor. In addition, the
7 14 person's hunting license shall be revoked and the person shall
7 15 not be issued a hunting license for a period of one year.

I thought it said that already for NRs as well. Seems like with all the databases around today that it would be a quick and easy cross-check to run for violations. I don't think the penalty goes far enough for residents that commit this fraud.

I agree Pharmer. Seems like it would be easy enough to require a farm tract number at the time of purchase for cross checking. Actually, I was hoping the change would require some type of pre-approval from the DNR that would have to be exibited to aquire the landowner tag. That would tighten things up.
