Last Day Bow Hunt

This afternoon I'm going to take my eight year old son to the tree with me. With limited hunting time for me this year, and not being presented with a shot on a buck I would want to take leaves me with my bow tag.

I don't want to miss my last opportunity to bow hunt this year. I hope a fat mature doe will walk by us tonight, I've never shot one of those.

my wife took away hunting privileges after i put my 4th deer down on sunday.

i "get" to go to a wedding today.

i guess i can't complain, i've had free rein since october so the "honey do" list now takes first priority.

Amen Muddy I shot number 9 yesterday with the old smoke pole so I "get" to go to a baby shower today. That is even worse than a wedding no free

afterwards. I snuck out this morning and snuffed a yote and back to the house by 9:00 so I guess that will have to do for now. When is turkey season again????

I am heading out monday in hopes of filling my two remaining doe tags. (my season in IL ends on the 15th) I got busy about the 1st of Dec and it has left me dragging in getting back out with my bow. I am going to a spot where I had 30 does single file past me last season, see if I can't thin out a couple............Good Luck Ghost, I bet your good luck charm(Gabe) will bring one past the stand.......

I filled that last Bow tag late today. Tomorrow Mrs ironwood will be in a stand with MCHunter, formerly known as T-t-t-turdy point buck. He will be video taping as she takes her first deer, I hope, durning the special late season. I'll be working trying to make up for these months of running to the tree stands.

Went out to fill my doe tag last night. Had 3 does come in to 60 yrds and they were coming down the trail right to me. I started to get the heart a pumpin and the release put on the bow string, then BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM my friend that was still working on his muzzleloader tag shoots a nice buck ( I could've sworn he was in a terrible spot)and I watch the does turn tail and run. That would have been great the last day last hour of the hunt. But NOOOOOOOOOOO.
