Well, May 14th was the last day i could hunt and i had to be home by 2:30pm so i packed the truck and headed down south for 1 last shot at a 4th season bird. The morning hunt did not go as planned, the birds flew down and shut up and that was that. I decided to go hunt a big piece of public ground for the rest of the morning but still no gobbling and no bird. So i packed up my truck and was heading for my buddys house to have some lunch with him before i headed for home. About 1/4 mile from the end of the park i seen 2 black objects run across the road i get closer and i see it was 2 toms all by them selfs. So i still go eat some lunch and them i decided to go see if the birds were in the same area. I go set up about 1/4 of a mile to the east of were the birds were walking and i did some yelps and hear 2 bird gobble off in the distance. So i throw the mouth call in and find a better place to set up and start calling. These birds were gobbling to every call i made. 10 min later i had 2 Tom's standing at 30 yards with there necks stretched up looking for that hen making those lovely purs! I had to ruin one of there days!
