Late ML tags

A guy at work claims he's gone to a couple of places asking to buy a late ML tag and has been told that they have sold out in this county. Aren't late ML tags statewide and unlimited quota? I think there might be a language barrier here; he might be asking for county antlerless or that is what they are hearing?

Early muzzleloader can sell out but not late I believe .

Correct. ^^

FWIW, when I went to buy my early season Muzzy tag a few weeks ago I had the clerk telling me that there was no quota on them. I was 100% sure that there was, in part because I had just looked online a few hours before that to verify that there were still tags available.

Despite my assurances, he remained steadfast that there wasn't a quota on early season muzzy tags...until I pointed to the regulations that were taped to the desk where the cash register was and there in bold letters was the 7500 quota figure. The moral...don't go by what clerks say! :)

Early season muzzy = 7500 quota.
Late season muzzy = no quota.

Now then, there are wrinkles if you are using a LOT tag and so forth, but otherwise what is above is true.

Is he wanting a late ML statewide any sex tag, or late ML county specific antlerless only? I was thinking the late ML statewide any sex tags are unlimited, just like bow and shotgun, but county quota still applies to county specific antlerless only tags.

I asked him about this again, come to find out he bought an any sex bow license and an any sex second shotgun season license, so isn't eligible for a late ML any sex and the county is sold out of antlerless tags. Told him he might need to road trip south to Lee and Van Buren counties. :D
