So I went to Fin & Feather to purchase my late muzzle loader tag. They asked me if i went shot gun i told them yes. So they told me that I can only get a anterless tag.. i told them that was fine. Then they asked me what county i will be hunting in... i told them washintong. They said there were no more tags for the county... i don't hunt in any other county so I was SOL. I don't understand why they asked me what county I was going to hunt.... and what about they the late muzzle loader hunters that jump from county to county to hunt, can they do that? I'm really confused about tags this year.. or maybe then they haven't changed, this is the first year were I've hunted shot gun and late muzzle loader. Is this whole county/tag thing normal?
thanks
jason

Re: Late Muzzle loader tag

Only the doe tags are county specific. The regular buck tag which you are not eligible for because you shotgun hunted are state wide. So once your county is sold out of does tags thats it for any season.

Re: Late Muzzle loader tag

you are only allowed one state wide anysex tag for a gun, you pick whether you get it for shotgun or muzzle. there are limits on doe tags, each county is allotted so many, and they are sold for any of the seasons, when the quota is met, they are done. the sunday paper listed the 23 counties with tags still available.
next year, you will have to get your tags bought earlier. (if the same system is still in effect)

Re: Late Muzzle loader tag

So what ever conty your tag is in, you have to hunt in that county and no other?

Re: Late Muzzle loader tag

If it's a doe tag, like in your case, yes. All anterless tags are county specific.
