Late Season question

I have good late Season food sources on my farm. Accessing the spots isn't an issue getting in. But getting out is a real problem. There can be 30-40+ deer on the food after it gets dark.

What do you guys find is the best way to get out so the deer do not associate my blinds with people and pressure? (The neighborhood I have this farm in gets immense pressure during the gun season)

I really do not want to burn the farm out. I have been leaving the farm alone because this time of year they really pile in.

I'm open for ideas.

Bill winke just talked about this today on his show. One guy had a suggestion to use a blue tooth speaker a ways from your blind and play coyote sounds from your ph. on it when you want to get out to clear the field. I might try this myself.

I second this. Have seen it in action on YouTube

Best way, hands down in my opinion is have someone drive in and pick you up.
Don't screw around. Jump in and go.

This ^^ definitely works, we have done it many times, but I think you can overdo it if repeated too often. So we still do it...sometimes. But it is better to solve the problem with screening, etc, IMO. If you drive in, start making noise a ways off, honking, etc. Try not to surprise them at close range, etc. Let them hear you from a distance.

Your post addresses one of the hardest things to deal with when hunting blinds/stands on food.. I try to cut paths thru corn for escape, I never come out till its pitch dark, and if I see the field clear 15 minutes or so before dark, I get out right then. I do everything humanly possible to avoid having the deer see me climbing out of a blind. Once they see you do that, they will associate it with danger.

I'll tell you my solution but I doubt I'll have any takers;). I just sleep in the blind and come out in the morning. It works perfectly but it's way overboard for most sane people.

Now that’s some serious dedication. I’ve slept in the duck boat over night so sleeping in the blind isn’t too far out there

I watched that last night too. He also had the idea of having an empty paint can with rocks in it on a long string and then pulling on the string to make noise to spook deer off, I thought that was pretty neat. I've seen before where he mentioned the idea of using a remote control car too. Set the car out away from the blind and then when time to go starting driving it around, never saw him try it.

I usually open up my far window and yell or give a few yips. My blind is out in the open on the edge of a hay field, so not a lot of cover. I've scared them off and next time I hunt had deer feeding and laying down 30 yards from the blind.

I fight this all the time. I've tried using an app on my phone with coyote howls. Seems to just draw their attention to the blind more. I might try the bluetooth speaker idea. I'm sure the wife won't mind if I "borrow" hers.

A bark seems to work for me . I don’t think they know if it’s a coyote or a dog . They scatter and come back later .

All good ideas. I think the far best however is Build your blinds accordingly , so you can get in And out without being seen. This year I planted mathantis Grass around about half a dozen of them, And also Transplanted cedars around some of them. Also been pondering how to? Build a screen around the base cost-effectively. Without impeding site. Would be nice to block off the Landing deck outside the door as well...
