Leave this Thursday Night

Well I leave this thursday night and try to bring me home a elk with the bow. they won last year so this year i want to come home a winner. Pretty excited so i am sure this week will go pretty slow. It will be a do it yourself hunt again so wish me luck.

I lost last year too doublelung, but won't be heading out west this year. I wish I could. I have been out west two years with a bow and never took a shot. My current goal is to get an elk with the bow. We always hunted on public ground without guides also. There is nothing like being in the mountains. Its GREAT - I will be thinking of you.

Good luck!! 4 friends & I were in Colo.opening weekend. We harvested a cow and had some close encounters with 4 bulls. 3 of us are going back out the weekend of Sept 20. Hopefully they'll be bugling/rutting then. They weren't on opening weekend. Hopefully 2 more weeks of bowhunting & 2 weeks of muzzleloading won't chase all the elk off the mountain. Anyone got a tip on were else to go this 3rd week of bow? We were in the Steamboat area. Thanks..

I will be hunt around the Gunnison area. I have relatives that live in Gunnison and they have been hunt elk and mule deer since the season started so they have been scouting for us also. We hope got get ther friday afternoon and and get camp set up and be hunting saturday morning. If i don't come home with anything again i will still be very satisfied.

Good luck to you. We leave Sept 18th for 10 days on a Montana Bow hunt for Elk and Mule/Whitetail deer. I'm a little more than a week out and can't stand it. Enjoy. I've muzzeloaded in the Lagarita Mts outside Gunnision before with some success, as well as NW of town with a rifle. That is some beautiful country. Can't wait to see the quakies. Shoot straight!
