Went to sight new scope for muzzleloader today and had it cranked up all the way and I was shooting low at 50 yards. Does anyone know why? Scope mounts are Burris from Scheels. Should I get leupold scope mounts or is something else wrong?

Hang on let me get this straight. You bought a new scope. You put it on your gun. You shoot it. And you think it's dead on out of the box???

Guys, If I am reading this correctly, he bought a new scope, has the scope cranked all the way up as in the UP adjustment and it is still shooting low. If that is the case, then I am not sure what to tell you outside of call Leupold.

Ohh I thought he ment zoomed all the way in. My bad. Check all the mounts, make sure you put everything on right. If that don't help call leupold

I had this problem once. Might have to try to remount it. Might also be a case of bad rings. Rings you put on a heavy recoil gun are almost as important as the scope itself......based on my experiences anyway.

I would take it to a gunsmith have them pull everything off and remount. Then boresight. You should be able to tell if there's enough adjustment with the boresighter in it. If it still don't have enough adjustment you will need to shim it.

Sorry I didn't read that you had it cranked all the way up.
