About every Local DesMoines News Cast, had a story on the decline of hunting license sales on their news casts last night.The story turned to the lack of pheasants, but this statistic is all the more incentive to increase deer license access.

Probably.

The IBA is trying to stem the tide, but money talks and what is right walks. In this time of budget shortfalls it is going to be harder and harder to hold the line.

I'm gonna beat this drum again, because elected officials listen to the drums, contact your legislators and voice your opinions. I'm not sure when the funnel dates are for bills to move out of committee but we will need expedeient contacts with legislators when these bills make it to the Senat or House floor for debate.

hopefully this can be avoided, and the influx of money from the (hopefully) soon to be passed, sustainable funding bill can snap a lid on it for quite some time

any additional nickle that comes to the dnr is a good thing. no need for deer hunting to foot the bill for the entire dnr
