Cooter Active Member Mar 8, 2010 #1 This year Im thinking about planting my first food plot. The area I have to plant is light sandy soil. My question is what plants would do best in this soil, if any? Also will I need to fertilize the heck out of it to get good growth? Thanks for your help.

Hardwood11 It is going to be a good fall! Mar 8, 2010 #2 Light soil: Try soybeans or a clover/chicory mix for deer, with brassicas planted in August a good option as well. Pheasants and Deer: Sorghum
