Ok gents...we'll try this again. I survived a close encounter with bigfoot the other night so I went to the opposite end of the farm today. That and the wind is exactly the opposite of the other night. :D.

Walked by a couple of good rubs coming in and can see some more from the stand. Set a couple of coon traps in the creek too. I'll collect my fur tomorrow on those.

Caught 3 coons and 3 posses today. I'm a small time trapper so that is a good day for me.

I know the area I am hunting tonight is frequented by 2 bucks that are 130-140ish. I will pass those and hope for something a little bigger. My son hunted yesterday, I did not, and passed several bucks. He got some good footage both am and pm. The two larger specimans he passed were a 130ish 10 I think and a similar sized 9.

No crazy chasing seen yet. But deer are active.

Keep us updated as I'm also headed back out right now and will likely need some entertainment; as activity in my area hasnt really heated up yet. Good luck

update #1

It's windy out here!!! :D

Nothing seen yet. Time for a salted nut roll and a swig of diet Dr Pepper. That usually brings something right in.

Daver........That's usually what I do break out the food and all of a sudden the deer are all over ya. Good luck and don't blow out of the tree.

Had a small one cruise by about 15 minutes ago. Its quite a ride in this tree!

no action here tonight either. on north end of a food plot. had a 150 cruise by here 100 yrds out this am, but he was only one of 2 i saw.

update #2

And perhaps the last update as I am having trouble getting a good connection.

Number of deer seen = 0. Harumph! Perhaps the deer do know it was daylight savings today! :D. I don't think I ever sat here and not seen anything so I am still hopeful that something shows yet.

I may initiate rattling sequence #1 here pretty soon. Smashing one of my fingers would liven things up some.:D

Oops I spoke too soon. We have a customer. An apparently lone baldie. Lucky for it I do not feel like gutting one tonight.

Same woodpeckers here as the other evening, not windy but then I a ways south of ya'll. East of St Louis

The lone baldie soon had cpmpany. It was a doe and two fawns that were feeding their way rihht to me when a 80 inch 8 arrived and chased them all around for a brief flurry. The buck is still here about 15 yards away. Hopefully his dad comes to get hom!

Field is clear again since the buck chased everything away and then wandered off himself. Still hoping to see a big one come through.

The fawns are back now. Pretty sure I just saw a bobcat run across a downed tree too. About 50 yards away. I would rather get that than a deer anyway! Fawns are-entering the kill zone now. Where's mr. Big? I hear grunting down the creek probably that little 8.
