I just purchased a new alpa hang on. I was wondering what is the difference in function of the offset bracket and the v bracket. My stand came with the offset bracket.
I typically use the hanging hook most of the time when I'm hunting rather than the bracket. I like to have multiple layers of safety, so I also use straps on BOTH versa-buttons when I hang the stand. I don't take much longer to use the second strap and it's comforting to know that the other stap is there in the unlikely event that it should ever be needed.
The offset brackets are a refinment on the original V-bracket (I believe).
The off set bracket does do a bit better job dealing with side leaning trees, than the standard V bracket dose.
I have two Alfa Hang-ons one with the off set the other the standard V. I have never felt the off set was quite as secure or maybe I should say solid, but it does make it easier to keep level l-r.
