Look out!! It's about to happen

Is anyone else share this train of thought. Over the past 7-10 days I have started to see the signs. New scrapes and rubs, as well as some friendly sparring. This year however I have seen alot of does running thru the woods with no bucks trailing. The last three days I have seen this on every hunt. Goodness that gets your blood pumping. Good luck to all of you out there. If you've not hunted much up to this point waiting for it to get good. Get out there, it's good. I'd be very surprised if we don't see nice bow harvests on The Harvest Report by Monday. Go get 'em. This is what we live for.

I witnessed the same behaviors as you mentioned the other evening while on stand.

I observed several single does and doe groups running thru the woods, frequently checking their back trail. They were not just romping around. I do not believe there were any other hunters anywhere near me. So unless it was coyotes, I think the bucks are staring to pester them.

I stayed on stand until well after dark; however I did not see any bucks following them.

Maybe they were getting chased by that pesky Ghost buck. Sorry, I couldn't resist replying as I sit here eating a piece of your grilled Doe loin. Y-WOODEN-CHA!

This loin quite honestly is the best piece of meat that I Have ever eaten. Never frozen, you gotta love that. I have a heart to cook up this weekend. I love me some deer heart. Just a quick tip for anyone reading. If you harvest your deer and want to keep the heart, but find yourself without a plastic bag, do what I do. Stuff the heart into your travel coffee mug, it will keep it clean and moist until you get home.

I always put the heart inside one of the big giant Paul Bunyan shoulderlength field dressing gloves.
