Well, I hunted Saturday morning. Got in stand by 5:30am and sat. Didn't see anything until around 7:30. Had a nice 10 come in that had a very high antler on one side and a small one on the other. He was chasing does and I grunted and rattled. He came in to my decoy on a string. He started to circle downwind. I took a 30 yard shot and missed. I pulled my head to see where my shot went before I released. I'm still kicking myself. He ran off and 10 minutes later, another 10, but nice and even, shows up in the bean field to the west of me. I grunted until he came in downwind and took off. Keep in mind that all this happened in 15 minutes. A smaller 8 showed up and I decided to take him. I hit him in the front shoulder and he ran off. My arrow was sticking out of him. I saw where he crossed a fence about 600 yards down the bean field. I went to the spot 1/2 hour later and saw blood. Left and came back 2 hours later and started the trail. Tracked him through another field, over a creek, up a steep rivine, through the woods, and then lost the trail. Looked like a muscle hit. One inch back on him and double lung. Anyone have this happen? The blood was dark red and was a drop or two every few feet. Steady, but not a lot.

I aggree with Shovel on that one. He will likely do just fine pending no serious infections arise.
