thinkin of trying the wapello region, wondering if there are any public lands around there

ive hunted every public area from wappello to columbus junction, i have a farm near columbus junction actually. there are some awesome spots for deer, closer to the columbus junction that i know of, and tons of great spots all within 20-30 minutes from wapello. pm me if you want to know more about a few of them, they are about fifteen, twenty minutes from wapello. goodluck

Good area there. A good friend of mine has lived there for the last 12 years so I have spent a little time in that area. There is a waterfowl area between Wapello and Muscatine that looks like it could be awesome. Also one area just north of town that is public access. Just need to get there and do some footwork.

lake odessa area. boarders the mark twain wildlife refuge. get on line and check out topo maps and start knocking on doors. the DNR in the area is also very helpfull.

cairo, has a good little public hunting area that carries some nice deer
