Lucky for Me ...unlucky for the deer

I just talked my Boss into letting me basically take five weeks off this fall...basically I set it up to work remotely (from the cabin) 10:00 am until 3:00 pm during the last week of October and pretty much all of November, plus any catch up stuff I can do after dark. This definetly makes up for the way they abuse me and my time the rest of the year.....

You have got to be kidding me. What do you do for work, and better yet do you need an apprentice? I as usual, will be trying my hardest to get fired in late September. If that doesn't work, I'll have a dear uncle hat dies out of state somewhere around the week of Nov 10th. I wish I was you! Enjoy it.

Took my three weeks Vacation this year OCT 21 through NOV 15th!

Ahhh, what better use for vacation? I've got Oct 29th to Nov 15th off so far. Gonna push my luck though and see if I can squeeze in another week, otherwise I might have to get deathly ill

.
And then of course I'll need the first week in January for late ML....

Sounds like a lot of us have the same couple weeks off. I also have the 29th-15th off. I thought about moving my two weeks back a week but it looks like I'll just stay with what I had planned. I should stop watching the Drury's, heck they can make the middle of October look awesome.

I'm off work the week of Nov. 7-11 and plan to live in the trees. I'm sure I'll add a day or two here and there. Also have from Dec. 23 to Jan. 3 off for a little late season action. Good luck everybody!

I actually thought about the deal for a couple of days on how it was going to be a win win for the company ( or at least how I could present it that way). If I just took my normal vation and checked out for a couple of weeks, they would have to cover for me completely, By doing it this way I can still keep everything going for them and get all of the time I want, to hunt as well... I work as a IT Engineer/ Manager for a company out of Omaha while I live In Iowa. The computer part of the work lets me work remotely from anywhere I can get a connection the the internet.

It's just "understood" around my office that if it's a nice day in October or November I may or may not be there in the afternoon.
They call me on weekends, at night, over holidays...even on my vacation days. I don't complain about that, they don't complain when I'm hunting. It's a beautiful relationship.

Its pretty bad when all I have to worry about is burning myself out this year. I can hunt everyday during the week until 10:00AM, plus I have every weekend off. Thats only until I take my vaction time. Im taking NOV 1-17 for bow, a week for shotgun, and a week for late muzzleloader. Pretty much everyday this year I can hunt. Its this time of year Im glad I dont have a life other than hunting.

Someday you may have a real job and maybe, just maybe, even a couple of kids to support!

And yes, I'm jealous as h3ll of your free time...

Fred- I used to have that same type of schedule in the fall, its funny how a wife/kid/job changes all that pretty fast. I'm still lucky compared to most I guess, I can't complain.

I got a "real" job Ghostie! I just choose to work second shift. Kids are a long way off in my future thank god.
