Make Minnesota Iowa again?

This is so great!!!! I heard about this today from that senator that was speaking on this. MN is running itself into ground & the lower portion of MN is DEEP RED, despise the MN government. I can see the rationale for this & even a path that it happens. & heck, it would make those counties have iowa regs for hunting so it would put hundreds of thousands of acres into common sense regs. This would be great!!!!
The IL one…. Same thing…. These folks are tired of being governed by corrupt Chicago thugs & incompetent lib lunatics. Running IL into ground. They hate that they get steamrolled by the 3 counties around Chicago…. I can see big support by those folks too.
We can’t keep going on like this…. Big cities literally running the whole state into the dirt. Bankrupt, corrupt, crime, high taxes, crazy spending, only D gets voted in by these big cities…. Something’s gotta give.

My town is split into two counties. I'm on the fillmore side. Looking forward to IA resident tag prices!

By land mass, MN is essentially a Republican state minus 3 festering blue dots in the Metro, Duluth and Rochester. 78 of 87 counties voted red in 2024.

Did you used to work in the Austin area if I remember correctly?

There are many Minnesotans that would vote to be in the Dakotas in a hard beat in my area. My county voted 75% for Trump . The taxation here is ridiculous and South Dakota is 0% !

This is all pretty entertaining. I always feel horrible for people that are stuck in states whose politics they disagree with but it is very hard for some to move. Being originally from Wisconsin I do see a difference in most Iowans(on the “right”) side of things and those I know from the Dakotas vs people from Wisconsin and Minnesota in general. A lot of people I know from Iowa and the Dakotas seem to speak their mind a lot more regardless of their company. A lot of people I know from Wisconsin and Minnesota seem to be much more guarded in sharing their opinion on politics until they know everybody else agrees with them. It’s like they are extra worried about offending the 1 person in the room out of the 10 that are there that agree with them. I’ve never understood that. Obviously the closer you get to the more liberal areas the more cautious they seem to get. They should have nothing to be afraid of. The other side sure doesn’t seem to hold anything back or worry about offending anyone. Why has the right always been bullied so bad in those states. I hope all the great people of Minnesota feel a little more open to speak their mind now. Wisconsin too! Has been too many fence sitters and people afraid to say what they really think in both those states for way too long.

Minnesota House Republicans are boycotting the session, because they are upset they are now in the minority. A Democrat was caught falsifying his residency and was thrown out of office & they think that’s unjust ?? They should not be paid for any weeks they are job present at work !

Minnesota politics is slowly changing RED again . It will take time . Harris picking Walz as VP was the best thing that happened to Minnesota .

He was exposed as an imbecile to the entire country !

I'm guessing you wouldn't want to lose those 180,000 voters?

Glad to see Iowa republicans are solving the states problems. I’m a conservative leaning independent, what a great “use” of our budget surplus. Maybe we could use that money to invest in education or infrastructure???
Education seems to get a ton of money to support a certain segment that repeats the same problems every generation. My wife teaches Spec Ed and Behavior Disorder and I think they get way too much money when you factor the bang for the buck.

Agree. Throwing more money at education hasn’t helped. Removing DEI policies, reducing teachers union influence and crazy federal requirements to transfer the real decision making to the local school board would be moves in the right direction.
