Mathews Question

I've shot a Q2 for five years now. I had a new string put on it the end of last summer. The past couple of weeks or so the bow has developed a couple of creaks. Try as I may, I cannot determine exactly where the sound is coming from. The sound is pretty minimal, but you can hear it loud and clear on a still evening. The bow is shooting so well, I really don't want to take it to the shop and have it taken apart. Do any of you Mathews shooters have any ideas? I've tried spraying silicone on the axles, the cable guard slide, and the limb pockets. This seems to help for a couple of shots then the creak comes back. I'd appreciate any advice you could give, I'm not the biggest fan of the shop I bought the bow from and I'd rather take care the sound myself if possible.

I'd think you'd be better off to dismantle it now instead of in late October. If the person that presses the bow is knowledgable it should have little effect on "screwing things up". I know the creak...most times it's in the limb pocket behind the limb bolt. It's in a tough spot to get enough lube to silence it. I think you'd be alot happier drawing on a bruiser and letting one disapear in his vitals then a nasty creak and Mr. Big goes Bye-Bye.

sorry i was late getting to this post, i had to take out a loan for some gas. i saw rudd had posted, so i figured the fire was already lit.

thanks Rudd, that's the way I was leaning. I was just hoping there was a quick fix...

so would the creak be from lack of lubrication, or are the pocket holes starting to enlarge from years of shooting?
would relaxing the limbs on a press and lubing the bolts fix it? and how long would that last? if the pockets are wearing out, that would probably mean new limbs, or a new bow
