On my way home from playing poker at prairie meadows this morning about 1 am on my motorcycle.

Heading north on S14 north of bondurant, when i come upon a deer standing on the shoulder on the northbound side.

Those of you that ride MC's know this is a bad situation so i start braking hard but at the same time what am i thinking..?

Gee he's a big damn buck, spread outside the ears, good long tine length, at least a main frame 10...LOL

Of course then he veered left out into the road and took me out and down.. still hurtin bad, right wrist is real sore but doc says nothing broken so hopefully i'll be able to pull the bow back again in a few days.

Did you get to keep the buck?

Glad to hear you are ok.It could have been alot worse.Had a buddy go down a couple of weeks ago and ended up with a broken leg and $10,000.00 damage to his bike.

This is my favorite time of the year to ride, but it seems it won't matter what time of year you ride they are darting out in front of you.

Have no clue why i put this in this section, guess pain pills were working meant to put it in the general forum.

Just thought it was funny that when i realized i had a good chance of gettin my butt broken i started evaluating his rack.. lol

I still have a few gray hairs from when I hit a deer with my bike. Glad you are alive; not too many ofr us that hit deer on bikes live to tell about it I am sure. I quit riding at night; isn't worth it. A damn 'possum or coon could ruin the night ride too.
