Applications for Michigan Deer Licenses Up For Sale
Applications for antlerless deer hunting licenses are going up for sale in Michigan.
The state Department of Natural Resources says agents will start selling the applications for licenses on Friday. They're also available online.
Licenses are available without applying in some areas. They include private land in southern Michigan and public land in parts of the northeastern Lower Peninsula. Hunters can buy licenses for those areas starting Sept. 6.
The DNR says it's offering 756,200 antlerless deer licenses in 2011. That's down from 776,500 available in 2010.
Applications remain on sale through Aug. 15 and cost $4. After a drawing, remaining antlerless licenses will be for sale starting Sept. 6.
The firearms deer-hunting season is Nov. 15-30.
