Howdy,
Deer in my area are well fed but I recently put out a couple of mineral licks. I guess the two main reasons for putting them out is to attract deer to the area and make them more comfortable while in the area, and two, to help with healthy body and of course antler growth. Do you think they actually make a large difference? Do deer even feel the need to seek them out if they are already eating good?
My biggest question is whether deer can smell mineral licks. I have put one out in one of my best locations that has a lot of activity during early season, but right now they don't seem to be hitting it or have located it. Will they seek it out? Will it help get deer to frequent the area, or will it just benefit those deer who are normally in the area?
Thanks for any opinions or info
