Mineral Site Question

doublebrow

"You Cant Fix Stupid"
I know that even when the salt block or mineral block is gone it sticks into the ground and they continue to use it after it's gone. My question is how close to one of these sights can you bow hunt with it being legal? any insight would be grateful!

i have been wondering the same thing. i use apples for my cameras and don't know how far away i have to be for my stand?

i'm gonna put apples out there next to my salt lick friday i hope i have tons of pictures it's only been a week since i put it out there but wanna make sure my new trail cam is working correctly and if i am getting any action in my New HOTSPOT for 2010. I wanna get a picture of the Bruiser i saw last year i know he's still alive just a waiting game now! But back on topic does anyone know how far you have to be from the salt block?

There is not a specific yardage that you have to be from the saltblock or bait source. The way the regs read is that you can't use the bait source to alter the deer movement to your advantage. Very vague, I know. Like others have said.....give your local game warden a call and speak with him about it!

they keep it vague so they can decide to fine you or not. also harder to find loop holes in the law if it is vague.
