I was doing a little surfing the web the other day looking at whitetail related sites and came upon a Texas outfitter / leasing group. On the main page of their website was posted a picture of the big Iowa nontypical that the young hunter killed around Independence. It showed the picture of the young man holding the deer that is posted here on this website. They made no mention of the hunter's name or location of kill. From the set-up of the page it is hard to imagine that they were not trying to come across as this buck being from one of their Texas properties.
I could not help but wonder if this young man even knows that his picture is being used? If not, what rights would he have against them using it? How hard is it for someone to just come into a site like this or other sites and steal harvest photos and post on other sites?.... about a year ago I stuck my foot in my mouth by repremanding a fellow iowawhitetail user for going on other websites and bashing this one. Only to find out that the guy was innocent and had his photo stolen and was being posted as someone else.
