Today I purchase my hunting fishing licenses and my two turkey tags the total came to $100 exactly. I figure at least another $50-$75 come time to buy deer tags.

I hear plenty of guys whine about this and I think why.....dont you enjoy hunting the great state of Iowa.

I hear it from the guys at work.....haha a butter ball is only 1.99lb whats wrong with you. I try to explain why I hunt and what I get out of is worth it to me. But they just dont get it....

I know there is a lot of states out there that the resident fees are a lot lower than ours.....I wouldnt trade with them would you?

I think they are pretty fair prices.

There are alot of worse places!! Believe it or not, there are stll alot of people that will take your word and a handshake! :way: That won't last forever! The huntiing here is the tits!!! :D MT. Lion ain't great! But it's coming on!!!!!!:drink2:

I would pay more if I had to...to keep things the way they are anyway. When I take into consideration the enjoyment that I get from the time that I spend hunting, it seems like pretty cheap entertainment.

I believe that the prices are fair however I would say colorado is tempting just because I would like to hunt Elk and a few other big game animals.

Price of admission doesn't bother me but the cost of getting there is getting out of hand for sure..$3.50/gal gas is going to slow me down for sure.

tag prices

I believe that the state wouldn't have raised any of their tag or lisence prices if it wasn't for the DNR's operating costs going up. Its a business. Even at the current prices I believe they are fair.

I think we have it made and I would absolutely pay more if it came to that. My bro lives in Wyoming and he has to put in for a draw for everything but Antelope, deer, and Turkeys. They give their residents absolutely no special treatment. He can by a general elk tag, but all of the "good" units are draw.

I grew up in Michigan and the residents still are on a lottery for Turkeys, and the population has exploded.

I love living here, and you will never hear me bitch about buying hunting tags. I mean seriously, I spend more taking the women out for a night on the town.

I get more enjoyment per dollar out of the money I spend on my licenses every year than anything else I buy. Best money I spend all year ... period.

Yeah thats for sure I'm going to have to get creative this year considering I have to drive about 45 min to my land. Not to mention its going to be a lot higher by start of season.

I've got about 1 hour 20, door to gate and with $2.00 gas it was running $20-25 a trip..
Looking at $40+ per hunt this year just for gas. Makes $30.00 for a permit seem like a free-bee.

The tags aren't the expensive part, its the gear. I'll gladly pay the tag prices, but all the gear I buy is what gets me. I guess it's an addiction that can only be fed by buying things!
