More DRY, For Some:

Just readin KC-Weather and they are saying this Thurs will mark 20 days without measureable rainfall. Same thing down here in SE Iowa,,well,,we did get a tiny 10th this past Tues. My Brassica got munched down pretty good by the deer and a bit more of H2O would have helped some new leaf growth. Now I know you guys up along I-80 and north and west have gotten good soaking rains past two wks. Glad for you,,or maybe too much. Crop Harvest probably affected. Well looks like more of the same this week. Best moisture North. Oh well ,glad my apple trees did good,,thanks to my wet July.

NO excuses for too damp ground down here to harvest. Even so they seem kinda s-l-o-w- at it. This new week will be aiming at 30 days with only my little tenth. Brassica, and rye,,held out for as long as they could for some H2O, but they are withering. Only tough old clover is holding on. Weather Service 6 to 10 and 8 to 14 day forecasts put Iowa in above average precip,,,that is a pipe dream I think,,, but I can dream I guess. Actually the forecast maps mean,,above average chances for precip,,not exactly that you will get alot,,,meaning,,like,,many frontal passages during that time frame. The fronts could all lack moisture however...

I know,,,you guys in western Iowa got it all. Harvest is probably slow over there? My plots would have loved a taste of that! Is crazy though,,one part of the state flooded,,the other end parched? Who can figure? We do seem to get frequently parched over here though,, more than most areas in Iowa.

If it does get wet again in the next two wks,,it will probably be over there in western Iowa,,as well as along I-80. Seems to be the places..
