A Few Steps Ahead Of You
Ok, as soon as I get hard horn pix of this deer I will post them.

but as he stands now, what are some thoughts on score? I know velvet can be misleading, but I want some estimates as he is now....

I moved the camera a few hundred yards and I have a pretty good idea of his habits after 4 weeks of catching him on camera. I know things could change after he sheds his velvet, but he is all over this area we are hunting and I think he will remain in the area.....

There are bigger deer in the area, I'm sure, but I might owe a few of you guys $5.... I doubt I'll be able to pass him with stick and string

He isnt a mega giant, and I like him!!!
Gimme some thoughts!

I don't live in Iowa, but I would not even think of passing that buck!!!

DOA if he came by my stand!!!

I am going to guess 130-135. I'd try to get an image after hard horn and check on the mass. If he seems light on the mass in hard horn he may be a very good 2.5 who could really blow up in the next couple of years. All depends on what kind of confidence you have in his ability to survive and stay around your area. Just one man's input.

I'd guess 135", and he'd get an arrow thru his chest from me most any year.....but that's just me. Nice buck!

He may blow to a typical 12 like the left side of the buck in JakeWym's avatar, next year! If you'd be happy with him, go for it.... But, you've already got pics of bigger ones so I would say at least wait until the 2nd week or so of November before taking him.

Tough deer to let walk, but he could use another year. It all depends on what you're after.
