Morning or Evening?

hey ya'll my brother-in-law and i were talking last night about deer hunting. IMAGINE THAT? anyways he brought up what i think would be a very interesting question. if you were given the option, and you had make a decision, to hunt mornings(sunrise to noon) or hunt afternoon(noon to sunset), for the entire season, which would you choose? and why?

i myself, unlike quite a few that we asked last night, had no problem choosing. i am definetley an afternoon man. i tend to see more deer movement, plus it seems more justifiable to me, since during early season/pre-rut they are more on a feeding pattern and they sometimes seem to be easier to pick off during the afternoon hours!

just thought this would be interesting since a lot of people we asked had a heck of a time choosing, surprisingly to me though, the majority of the answers were morning!

Without a doubt, morning. While I prefer afternoons this time of the year and during the late season too, mornings seem to be the best during the month of November. You catch all deer going to bed. You catch those bucks following the herd to bed. You catch that buck pestering the does until he can't find a hot doe and then traveling and looking for a new bed with a hot doe.

Well,I have been out both mornings and afternoons so far and I have seen 7 does in the morning and 19 does and 3 bucks in the afternoon.I think you will tend to see more later this early BUT there is nothing like the woods coming to life in the morning with a crisp frost on the ground............

Depends on how much beer I consumed the night before.

Seriously I think that I would rather hunt the mornings.

for me oct 1 - nov 1 evening.

from Nov 1- dec 1 morning.

from dec 1 - jan 10th evening, even though I have seen alot of big ones in the morning this time of year

I just love being in my stand before sunup, and watching the woods come alive as the sunrises....
