Make sure everytime that you put in a new card, go to the menu and go to "delete all images". If you don't do this your pics will just keep stacking up and I would imagine you will run in to the problems that you are having. Try deleting the images and let us know.

I already did that, I only have 700 pictures on my camera. I think what happend is that when I deleted them I left one that was up to 9,300 and it ran but then stopped once it hit 9,999. Because it can only go that high.

I guess I don't understand what you are saying? You have 700 pics on a memory card or on your camera? I didn't think the D55's had a internal memory that large? And what size GB memory cards are you using? I use 2GB in mine and they only hold about 2300 pics. Are you deleting the images with the memory cards inserted? I delete all my cards while they are inserted in the cam. I guess that's the only advice I have for you. Sorry, but I've never had a problem with any of mine. Good luck
