I did some testing on the Moultrie M80 to check the delay between the picture and the video when the camera is set in video mode.

I set a stop watch infront of the camera then flagged it on the minutes. The trigger speed seemed to be around two seconds. This could be off do to my reaction time.

There was a three second delay from the picture and when the camera started taking video. This was true with every test. I tested both in day time and ir conditions.

I am adding a in the field picture and video. The picture is nice and clear. The video is some what grainy.

Also the upgrade for the M80 is to fix the delay in picture mode. Set a 15 seconds it was taking closer to 30 seconds to recover.
 
I have 3 of these and all of them power off when they feel like it!!!! I called moultrie twice because they said the upgrade will fix it. Well they said to copy to an SD card and tried it on 3 different cards and still can not get it to take!!! Any help from people that have done it?
 
Copy a .rar file to an sd card and put in the camera and suppose to go from there. Well I have tried 3 different sd cards and the upgrade menu does not show up when switched to AIM like it is suppose to.... I am now on my 4th call to moultrie and they keep telling me to try recopying to sd card!!!!
 
Ok got it fixed..... Well got the new update installed an will see if this helps! I will keep you guys informed!

I just had this problem last week. New batteries and mine will not power up. Tried the software update but it still won't power up. Called Moultrie back and they said to send it in so it is going back tomorrow. Have 2 others but have had no issues with them yet.

What happened to the days when we just use to talk deer hunting with our buddies and not strangers on the world wide web?

Plus all the pix would have been cave man drawings when you started hunting:moon:

I had to put the sd card in the m80 and clear it for the update to install on the card right.

Yep!! We did'nt need a picture!!!! We just shot 'em!!! :way:

You can do that or a quick format of the card on your pc
