Mow it or leave it alone????

My landowner friend enrolled 21 acres in the CP23 program in 2011. Unfortunately, the guy hired to put it in didn't get it done until mid July with hot, dry conditions that continued through the fall. It was mowed once in 2012 but it looked terrible. This year it has sprung up pretty well in a good percentage of the field. The NRCS office says that she might qualify for spot mowing. The question is, should we leave it alone or try to spot mow? With all the forbs that were in the mix I can't tell what is a weed and what wanted. The deer tracks in and around the field has increased tremendously this year. Any input is appreciated!:way:

I'm sure there are a few weeds in the mix, but it looks awesome to me. I'd be in the "leave it" column...

That was my thought too FWIW. There are some weeds in there, could a couple of guys manually do some spot removal of the weeds and call it good?

A grass monoculture doesn't provide much forage for wildlife. Depending on the weed type, I'd leave it alone. I didn't see anything in there that would cause me to mow.
