Multi Flora Removal

Land of the Whitetail
I'm hoping to get to work this weekend on a 6.2 acre cost share project working on removing mfr and honeysuckle. Doing basal bark spray on the mfr and cut on the honey suckle followed up with spraying the stump. I did 5 acres last winter.

I've waited until the end of the week to try and get hold of my district forester, my fault, but can't reach them. Anyone have a good guess on how many gallons of triclopyr I need to buy? Last year I want to say I used like 5 gallons, but can't remember for sure.

Whatd you spray it with last year for that 5ac and how was your kill? I did a bunch in April and it all re sprouted LOL

Refuse to do any woods work this time of year with all of the deer herded on my property

1:4 mixture of tryclopyr and diesel. Worked incredibly well. Everything that I sprayed is completely dead, all gray and bone dry. The plan i have says specifically not to do this treatment between March and May.

You can foliar spray, but have to get close to 100% coverage and it can be tough on big bushes. Burning can wipe them out really well if enough fuel present.

We’ve been working to remove MFR in our timber with help from our EQIP program. Have tried lots of things: Foiler with Gly, basel spray with Tri+Deisel mix. (Sorry, I don’t have a good membory for how much it covered). My current favorite is to do a prescribed fire in Feb/March, and then come back in April/May and any sprouts with a gly mix spray knocks them out.
