Hey all, looking for any advice on fall muskie in Iowa. I've never tried for muskie before...I have the pole and reel setups, but no specific baits besides large bucktail spinners I've used for Pike.

Which lake would be the better bet...Clear lake or Okoboji? Probably going towards the end of September or first week of October.

Any help or guidance on where to find good info would be appreciated.
 
I've heard Okojobis are better through all my DNR fisheries buddies. More water to work with.

Muddy, that's where my DNR fisheries connections told me to try too out of that choice, but they also threw in a third spot over in Eastern Iowa.
 
Eastern Iowa as in Pleasant Creek or Lake MacBride? Of those two I'd go with Pleasant Creek park.
 
yes, Pleasant Creek was the suggestion, but someone offered a smaller, more well stocked lake. So I think we're going to head to Cedar Lake now.
